First, PLEASE do not send me to the sticky post. I read it. I hunted through many sites. I need actual suggestions of reliable sites.

I need redirection for my new site. I don't want ads. I was going to use dot.tk, but they require you to be 18. I was going to use ipfox.com but they require you to be 18. I am not 18. I don't want a redirect that ends in .as or .to ...I do want a subdomain redirect. What do you suggest? Thanks.

On a side note, no place is really gonna care or even know if you really are 18. It's not like anyone actually gives out accurate info to a place like that anyway. Dot.tk has ads anyway though.

Hell, I could give it to you. Even a subdomain if you want.

you.3kd.net . I'd have to set it up for you though. So, if you want it changed, you'd have to email me first. PM me if you are interested.

Actually, I could just point the DNS to Mydomain.com (free service), and from there you can make email forwarders, webpage forwards, or direct it to a domain host. Then you wouldn't have to email me for changes.

If anyone else is interested, PM me. I don't want to start a service for it, just want to spread the url around a bit.

Hey Canuckkev, do you happen to know what other features Muttle offers, since you're using them for 3kd.net hosting?

I thought it was 50 MB? Anyway, that sounds like a pretty good deal. :D

Do I have to make my main page on their servers too?

What's with the sub-subdomain?

What's wrong with subdomains? You saying my redirect service won't take off? :D

Just lie about your age. No service that is free is really going to care.

Archbob, if you're talking about that ipfox.com thing, (1) ipfox.com doesn't ask for your age on the sign-up form anyway, and (2) ipfox isn't accepting new sign-ups anyway, so you can forget them for now.

Heh, the ads can be disabled. You only have to run ads if yo uwant to be eligible to win a "dot.tk" tshirt.

No, I'm talking about free redirection sites in general.

hi, novice here with a stupidly simple question but just need clarification if that's OK.

By 'redirect' I assume that you mean that if someone owns say 4 domain names, these services that you are talking about, in the above threads, will point 3 of them to the 1 original master website. Is that correct? So you only have to host and build this one original website. And these services you mention above will do this for free? And some of them without ads? Is this as good as it sounds?

Thanks in advance.

Well, redirect could mean that, or it could also mean someone getting "http://yourname----------", and that forwards to "http://www.host.com/members/~yourname/". As you can see, it's a lot shorter.

If you want to redirect domains, that can be done as well. Check out http://www.mydomain.com . That will allow you to do many things with your domain. Also, you may be interested in CNAME'S. A CNAME is a DNS record (set by your registrar), that essentially creates an alias for another domain. For example, you have the domain "triafaro.com". And you also have "triafaro.net". By using a CNAME record in triafaro.net's DNS, and pointing it to triafaro.com, the two domains are now identical. When a visitor goes to triafaro.net, the exact same website would appear as the one at triafaro.com . But forwarding can achieve pretty much the same thing, and only the domain you want will show up in the address bar.

Or, if you can live without URL cloaking, you could use -------- and still have no ads from them.

N2v.net has ads now since they were bought out by seejack.com.

now.nu (http://www.now.nu) is, for me at least, very fast and very reliable. Also dot.nu (http://www.dot.nu) is being revamped and they'll accept new signups soon, but from my experience now.nu is the superior of the two. I've had less downtime from now.nu than from dot.nu.

I've found www.am5.com to be good.
