Did some searching, and came up with some new ones. Have any of you heard of these? All are no ads, I think.

http://www.abchostonline.com/

10MB
no subdomain
PHP
MySQL
CGI
SSI
FTP
some other crap

http://216.97.122.103/musawir/hosting.html

5 MB of Disk space
PHP 4 with GD support
MySQL
No ads
Free subdomain

Looks like a linux geek who copied the newsforge/phpweblog graphics, but maybe some good hosting if you can live with the 5mb

Gotta register your domain through them (BootBox anyone?)

http://www.2itb.com
Dunno

and JMWebdesigns.
When did they start up again? Anyone had any good/bad experiences with them?

I wouldn't trust the host with the IP. He'll probably close down once the fun of hosting sites loses it's appeal.

*lol* Nobody's doing a review on the first one... guess I'll do it then.

Obviously most of you will now be asking 'What's The catch' Quite simply there isn't one. By paying a one off set-up fee of £6 you get a unbelievable account that will remain active as long as you are using it*, you will not receive any Spam email from us and we will not sell your email address to any other company, nor do you have to place a banner add on your site.

Oh, yeah... they explain why at their main page:
"Due to the massive demand for abchostonline accounts and a recent questionnaire sent to all our existing customers there is now a one off set-up fee of £6, you will not have to reply to any advertisement e-mail's or place any banners on your web space in return!"

from http://www.abcservers.com/terms.html
The client will pay for services provided under this Agreement by Credit Card authorization. When initiating service, the client will be charged the published set-up fee for the service plan selected. If the client has selected a monthly billing plan Abc may also deduct a pro rated partial month charge according to the service plan for the number of days remaining in the calendar month from the time of initiation of service until the end of that month.
Abc reserves the right to increase prices at any time. Renewal of service will be subject to future price increases. Failure to pay future price increases will be grounds to terminate service

So I guess it isn't truly free, but it still seems too good to be true.

The musawir.net doesn't seem too reliable. Their signup and login forms don't work either. (page doesn't exist)
