my webhost is really messed up now and im plannin to switch. im lookin for a unix host thats under 40 dollars a month pricing, that is fast (my previous one was multiple ds3 servers) so i want at least that.

possibly 500mb+? because thats wat my old one offered. ftp, cgi, u know the basic stuff.

is there any good ones you can suggest to me?

People always think this is my host, but I am not affiliated with it in any way, except for the fact that I know the owner, I worked for 9cy.com, and the owners of both are the same. I have it in my signature for the sole reason to help Paul out a bit...In fact, two of three sites in my signature are owned by him, lol. None of them are mine.

Anyway, the key characteristic of 9cy.net is that they offer a lot of space and a lot of transfer. It's not particularly cheap, but it does fit your requirement of under $10/month, and it does offer all the basics. Besides lots of space/transfer, the features aren't impressive at all, I must say, but after being with the host (for two sites) for a few months now, I must say that they are very reliable indeed. The only problem is that they're not accepting sign-ups.
