Great Advertising idea

I receive an email from Boardhost last night. Heres a little fragment from it:



When we implemented popup advertisements on everyone's account, a few months back, we received a lot of feedback. We carefully took each of your thoughts into consideration, in developing "friendly" popup advertisements. What we mean by friendly, is that when someone visits your board, they're only going to see a popup advertisement once, and will not see another one for an entire day (unless their IP address changes). It will not matter how many messages they view or post, there will only be one popup advertisement a day.

Now why cant FWPs think of something like this?!?

How many people here would like that idea over a banner? How about a pop up when the visitor leaves as opposed to entry?

I think Angelcities does it too. I'd definitely prefer that to a banner. An exit pop up is good too, but how do you do that? Unless you use an OnUnLoad script, I don't know of another way. But how would you get the onunload to work? Maybe when a visitor leaves the domain, it could pop up? It's a good idea though. I bet you can make more money off it too.

Popups on exit????? No way!! I always get traped in stuff like that. If you close it, an other one opens! Its also verry anoying(?).
