Ok I tried to take a screenshot by hitting printscreen but nothing happened does it prompt you to save a file or does it just save it somewhere automatically if so where? is that even the button? Do you hit print screen?

On most keyboards there should be a button that says Print Screen, or Print Scrn. After you do print screen, open up an image editor such as MS Paint and do a ctrl+v (...or just mouse leftclick and hit paste) to paste your screenshot. Now save your image as either a bitmap (bmp) or graphic interchange format (gif), and you are finished.

Do you hit print screen? If you're running on Windows hit Alt + Print Screen. Then open up something like paint, and paste it there. :)

Holding down Alt while pressing Print Screen captures the window, if you want a true screenshot (i.e. the whole screen), then you just need press Print Screen.
