I am curious as to how many users on here currently use Lynx as their browser.
Though I am on Windows, I still tend to use a Win32 port of lynx, purely for speed, when I am reading mostly text based sites.
Anyways, how many of you use this lovely browser?

God that has got to be the slowest download speed I have ever seen.
.53kb/sec and I'm on 1mbit dsl.
Now, how do I use this thing?

i dont see the point of having a browser that is only good for viewing text based web sites

I loaded this site fine. It loads all websites super fast without images.
Hell, it's quite nice to use.
Alot more secure too.
[edit] I just came to say that I made this edit using Lynx. It works quite well. :)

I've used the original *nix port and I must say it is extremely fast. I am downloading the Win32 port right now at 3.1kbps (slower than my normal download speed). Daniel, maybe your ISP doesn't like Linux? :p

For some reason, it scrolls all the way to the bottom of the page when i press down to choose a link

Heh... That's a blast from the past. Lynx was the first browser I ever used. When I first got Mosaic, it was like heaven. :D
Well at least my site works with it. It's setup in a way that everything can be read and you can get around within the site. Not done on purpose, but it's a bonus. :)

I got it at 164k :p
Here's a thought, right click and "save target as". Just clicking the link, it was going to slow. I did the other, and ZOOOM! It was DL'd!

I think that qualifies to be the fastest browser on earth, not opera.

Opera is still the fastest GRAPHICAL browser.

I find Mozilla to be much faster than Opera...
Who?
August 11th, 2002, 15:56
Opera for me starts faster then IE and loads pages faster, but i still use IE.

Moz and IE are both equally slow for me... the ads have kept me away from Opera.
