I'm getting worried that my 10 minutes a day is too long and is wasting too much water. So how long does it take for you guys to shower?

I dont take a shower or a bath. I go jump in my pool. Chlorine is better than any soap or shampoo :D

Having lived most of my life relying on tank water, I manage 3-5 minutes. Three for a regular shower, 5 when I need to wash my hair. Even now that I no longer rely on tanks and rain, I am so used to the *get in there, scrub and out* that it is a habit.

Anywho, about 12-15 minutes for me. My longest shower ever lasted about 4 1/2 hours but that's because I fell asleep leaning against the wall...

I have very long hair and it takes forever to wash and dry, there is no need to wash it everyday, we don't have pollution here to dirty it :p

Its actually not healthy to wash your hair everyday. You would be doing more harm than good. Its best to do it at least every other day.
I normally take under 3 minutes myself, 7+ when I wash my hair.. I hate trying to get conditioner out.. its pretty long hair.

WTF. Okay, when you have long hair, you simply cannot wash it every day. If you do, the oiliness will just keep on increasing. If you start off washing your hair, say, twice a week, and increase that to four times a week, your hair will get a lot oilier a lot faster. It's not a good thing.

No, just long. Although it isn't that long anymore, used to be down to the top of my butt. Now it's just to my shoulder blades... I'm a bit of a freak about clean hair, I can't stand having even slightly dirty hair, it drives me mad.
Having clean hair makes me happy. :)

I don't have any friends, girls included, that don't wash their hair every day. It's just something that's common over here...

Jan - are you a man or a woman. I can never tell.
Is your name pronounced like Yaan, or just plain Jan.
I feel sorry for any person who takes baths. You're basically bathing in your own filth.

I feel sorry for any person who takes baths. You're basically bathing in your own filth.Perhaps if you're in an eyedropper full of water, or have not yet fully mastered the use of a washcloth, but the amount of water contained by a ordinary bathtub is more than sufficient. Besides, unless you habitually roll in a pool mud after rising from bed, there's little filth to wash off anyway.
I prefer bathing myself, a leisurely bath, with bubbles and perhaps fragrant oils or soaps or whatnot, is much more relaxing and soothing than I find standing in a darkened hole while being pounded with water to be. Nevertheless, the question was how long I shower when I shower, so I would have to say... perhaps ten minutes.
In reply to the side topic on hair washing, my hair is very oily and must be washed on a daily basis. Wetting it without washing would just increase the oil. Chlorinating it without washing would turn it to straw. My hair is washed everyday, on days when this is not possible, care is taken that it doesn't get wet.

I thought it was unhealthy to wash your hair more than one day?
Anyway, Bruce, be glad you haven't seen Europeans. My French class full of Europeans, Australian/New Zealanders, and Asians (I was the only American :o) were surprised when I said that i washed my hair everyday. :confused2

I take a long time cause I shower when I get up and still feel half dead. And I've done what Bruce does too, and have fallen asleep in the shower. Good thing I had that day off.
And yeah, I'm surprised to hear that you Aussies and Europeans can go more than a day without washing your hair. My hair is a ----- to wash cause it's so thick and it's kinda knotty when I wake up, but I still wash it everyday. You have to here though. The atmosphere requires it.

My hair is so coloured and bleached that I simply can't wash it everyday - It will fall out! Every other day works for me. Never longer than that, never sooner. It's also quite long so it's a bit of a hassle to wash and blowdry. To dry naturally, takes 2 days, but by then it's wet again!

That seems to happen to at least one person a day, if I spot it I usually delete one so that there is no "stop spamming" etc posts by the natives

3-5 minutes if I don't have the mood to bathe, if not around 6-10mins.

Probably about 3-5 minutes. If I am in a bad mood, stressed out, I will stay in a bit longer. I wash my hair everyday. It gets greasy fast if I don't.
As for bathes, I occasionaly (like quarterly), have a bath. I have heard the "sitting in your own filth" argument before, but, I don't think it's really that bad...I'm not that "filthy". A nice hot bath really releaves stress, even better than a few cups of coffee.

I take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour. But mostly in between. When i'm in school, I wash my hair every one to three days. Over the summer, I wash my hair as soon as my head starts to itch. And no, it isn't lice.
