OI!! blank...I'm not Blank Verse, but as I'm also not Canadian, I'm far more qualified to answer this. :D
...what's a hoser? Apart from someone operating a hose?Indeed, it is someone who operates a hose. The word came from the mid 30's when it, and "hosehead", described farmers siphoning gas from farm vehicles. It remained just that until the early 80's when Second City TV premièred and gave new life to those two inane words. Now it means just about anything the person saying it wants it to mean, which is usually a mild or playful insult, but it's thoroughly Canadian nonsense.

Actually, yes, but it really is an insult towards Canadians. The hosers are the Canadians that people outisde of Canada think say stuff like "aboot", and always dress like lumberjacks. The guys from SCTV just made it popular with the McKenzie brothers. It'd be like calling Dusty a damn Yankee.
eh?

It'd be like calling Dusty a damn Yankee. No, I'm originally from the South. I'm not a damned yankee, I just live with them.
In the words of Apu, the South shall come again.
