Nah, I think you should ignore the ones mentioned above.
But you can rely on NCBI and Crosswinds and maybe LMAO too.

Stas.net ---- if you can stand the popup that is displayed behind the viewing browser

Stas.net is even worse than Crosswinds, and that's pretty hard to accomplish.

http://www.tripod.co.uk

on a test account for speed etc they didn't add banners to the site.

I find it fast.

http://www.gcsnet.net doesn't have any banners... Yet... But it does have the 100megs you're looking for. I'm sorry, but you won't find any hosts with 100megs and no banners now that 9ug has gone the banner route.

gcsnet hasn't got banners, but it's got a pop-behind.. still, it's better 'cause it supposedly only loads once per 72 hours, plus it's a pop-behind and there are no banners placed on your pages.

Oh, yeah, they're real fast too.

All the different Tripods are fast as hell, but don't they claim copyright to what you upload?

With the couple popups on entry would make anyone get away from this site. They use Homefree, try uploading a 5 meg zip file using it :D

They won't last long.

and that popup spawned another popup! how annoying

They always sucked anyway. They were down more often than they were up.

nbci: i think they're leaving the free webspace scene

What a bunch of cowardly backstabbers NBCi are! At the time I posted in this thread four months ago, I was hosted by them, but they just have to turn on their loyal members only five months after they finally stop sucking!

crosswinds: big fat ugly ads.

Crosswinds is the only unlimited space FWP left that's been around long enough to be considered reliable, and that's just sad.

I can only hope that my current host, http://www.mektek.net/ , will last a long time, as they've completely replaced NBCi and are the only unlimited space FWP that actually has a fast server and minimal advertisements.

This Gizba can really offer a half of gigabyte? That I doubt... what a scam.

niv
July 17th, 2001, 21:06
that would probably work if it spawned popups on an exponential level.

I emailed them earlier, and they said that there is plenty of space left. the error may have been a glitch in the script. they said.

I can still upload files to my folder, so i guess there is still space left after all

And you find the owner in Jamaica on a brand new boat after six months of making money by stealing credit card information when you file out the form to sign up for amazingly cheap hosting.
