Hi. My search for a sponser has been a long and difficult one. I have been accepted by affiliateclick.com which pays $.10 to $.15 a click, but I see no feedback anywhere about them. Can anyone (Czar?) give me a little feedback? Thanks!

Did I hear my name? ;)

I had not heard a thing about AffiliateClick today, but a quick look at the site had warning bells going off all over the place.

1. They were trying to run their ad serving software within a shared hosting environment until mid February? Give me a break.

2. They use AdvertPro to power their network. This piece of software is reasonable, and is well-suited to serving a few hundred thousand, or even a few million banners/day, but it is not powerful enough to serve a whole affiliate network from one dedicated server.

3. They are using a trial version of NetObjects Fusion to build their site, and the design is incomplete. Check out this page:

And try to click on the incredibly crucial "Ad Rates" text link. ;) What's more, there are many more broken links (http://www.affiliateclick.com/advertisers/statistics/statistics.htm) within their menu elsewhere.

4. When you finally find their actual Advertising Rate Card (http://www.affiliateclick.com/advertisers/rates/rates.htm), you'll see that they offer advertisers the chance to book campaigns at 15 cents/click. Now, everyone in advertising knows that actual advertisers will never pay the full rate card amount, so it's unlikely that AffiliateClick will have much leverage in negotiations if they wish to offer their publishers 10-15 cents/click.

Overall, they're obviously new to the game and are trying very hard, but there are many better options available - WebsiteSponsors, ValueClick, Click2Net, FastClick, etc...

In this market, you'd be better off sticking to the big names.
