This morning I was disconnected after being online only 10 minutes. I tried to reconnect and got a "line is busy" message. (Which is rare) I kept trying and always the same message. I restrated the machine, tried again....still nothing, so I figured there must be some problem with the ISP.
I rang them and left a message for them to call me, which they did about an hour later. I graciously let them take me through all the settings , of course nothing had changed there. So she said she would pass it on to tech support. In the meantime, I continued trying to connect.
They finally rang and again I went through the settings, (even though I told him I had done all that with help desk :confused2 )
In the end he checked his logs after suggesting I reinstal my modem etc. The logs showed I had been connected for 4 hours  He even told me what time I was disconnected. I reminded him that I had rang them during the time I was supposedly connected. He said again my modem must be faulty because they didn't get the signal and to take it to a computer shop to get checked. After a few irate words from me regarding restarting the computer and turning the modem off on at least 4 occasions since I had been disconnected he finally agreed to look at things his end.
The reason for the busy lines? Because I was still technically connected according to them. I calculated the time he said I was cut off their end and when I last tried to connect and figured if I try now it should work - and it did :bandit2: Technicians
