I'm just wondering...how many of you approach advertisers personally, rather than use an ad affiliate program like CJ or DoubleClick? How difficult is it to find potential advertisers?

Well if you got a site with lots of hits, put a advertising page like the one on freewebspace.net

Let the advertisers come to you.

I get offers every once in a while, I prefer to use network though.

they contacted me once, but they paid me even less that I could earn from ad affiliate programs :confused2

Wow, that's a very interesting scenario! I always thought individual advertisers would pay more than an affiliate program?

CPM programs

I'm with Burst but not having much luck :(

I'm with fastclick, its playing out 35 cents CPM, not bad.

Don't you mean $3.50? ;) Mine is at $2.37 as I speak (type) :cry2:

Hehe...I know Jan. I'm not that stupid yet. ;) :p

But $3.50 is still a lot for a thousand impressions considering 90% of visitors don't even pay attention to the ads and the remaining 10% may not buy the product or even click on the ad.

35 cents CPM is only for the banners, the pop-unders make around $2.40 CPM for me.
