Hello,
Without going in to too much detail, I am designing a business site and I have a few questions. There will be lots of photos and approx 4-5 pages of content so how much space do you guys think I will need?
I have bought a domain name but they will not allow me to upload the temporary page I have designed using wordpad and html so who do you recommend I sign up with?? I don't want lots of pop ups bothering customers and I would like control over the types of ads that are displayed on the screen.
Thank you for your help.
Kind regards,
Butter

Depending on the amount of pics, I doubt you would need more than 5-10 megs really.
Try http://www.f2s.com It has no ads. And is reasonably reliable.

Try gcsnet.net :)

are you going to have any large scripts?
if so try:
Nalhaz.net: 25 MB, CGI-BIN/PHP4 support, MySQL database, no ads, and domainhosting.
F2S doesn't do domainhosting unless you register it with them.

My guess would be that you would need about 10 MB, depending on whether or not you want to expand in the future. Anything over 15 MB should be a pretty safe bet.
Oh, and if you've registered for a domain name and can't create your own page, that's tacky. I'm not an expert, but you should be able to upload and change your own site on your own domain name! I would complain.

That's a stupid statement if you ask me. Any old moron could fill out a form and register a domain. Working with nameservers, FTP, CGI, PHP, HTML all requires learning. Domains require ten minutes, knowing your personal info and ten bucks. You tell me which is easier.

5+mb space. A business site I design only has 3MB space (they only have their www page on dialup, not buying a domain) so cramming pictures onto the webserver sure is fun lol.
