Homer: How was your day at school, Marge?
Marge: Dreadful, it took the kids 45 minutes to locate Canada on the globe.
Homer: With it stuck all the way in the corner who can find it?

It's not that small. It's about the size of Arizona. Plus, it is the southernmost country in the world (when you average the northern and southernmost points of the country)! How could you miss it?

Isn't it also the furthest east country before the International Date Line? I seem to remember on New Year's Eve 1999-2000 the news media saying that New Zealand would be the first to welcome the new millenium.
