After reading about the ATI Radeon 9700 and 9000 Pro just being released, and having a nVidia geforce4 ti 4600 128 ddr video card, I was wondering which card you guys prefer? Personally, I find nVidia better than ATI because my card can still keep up with the two next-generation cards that ATI just came out with :D

personal preference - geforce is more well-known in australia so i got that - i have a GeForce2 MX400 64MB DDR Card and hasn't failed me yet. Although my old M64 TNT2 Pro 32MB SD PCI conked out a month or so ago - we think it was because the it wasn't getting enough air to cool it down.. teh comp that had it had so many PCI cards - i think it was full

I prefer ATI, though I don't personally use either...
ATI has had some driver issues in the past, I'll admit that, but it isn't really an issue any more. ATI provides more card for the cash (e.g. Radeon 8500 compared to the Ti-200 or even Ti-500), just like AMD does compared to Intel. ATI cards generally provide more features as well, dual monitor support, DVI, etc. Yes, some nVidia cards do as well, but it's more common with ATI.

The Radeon 8500LE is better than the Radeon 9000.
I would rather get an ATI Radeon 9700 if I had enough bob.

8500LE > GeForce3 Ti-xxx
9000 > Geforce4 MX-xxx
if I had enough bob. Enough "bob"? :confused:

Bob = money
I read somewhere that 8500LE is slightly faster than the 9000.

I use the TNT2 M64 32MB. It's cheap. It's good. It plays GTA3 just fine. I like it.:chinese2:

I prefer ATI because of the superior image quality in 3D.

Although I've heard good things about the NV30.

Who knows, by the time it's released, ATI may have another card ready as well...

I'd wait a few months before purchasing and top of the line cards because ATi and Nvidia use their customers as beta testers.

If you like DVD playbac, go for ATI card. For gaming, I used to say nVidia, but the newATI 9xxx series is so good too at this department, I recommend you to go for ATI too in this one!
Price is somewhat ridiculous though, a Sony PS2 is cheaper....(ot):D
