I use Nero 5.x.x.x at home to burn cd using Yamaha CD writer. Everything goes fine until I need to make a cd image. Can somebody tell me how to do it? I found it that it's not as easy as using Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 that I use in my workplace.

Anyway, which one better, Nero or Easy CD Creator?

Thanks.

I've never used Nero but I heard it was better, I never did like Roxio.

At the moment I'm using CD Mate (http://www.cd-mate.com/). I've only had it a short while but sofar, it's the best burning program I've used.

ok..

recorder -> choose recorder -> choose virtual device

if you want to copy an entire cd...

file -> CD Copy

OR

for a few files on ur hdd

do a normal wizard thing

to burn the iso...

change the recorder - back to ur burner

burn normally

Am I the only one who uses Adaptec? It's very easy to use. By cd image, do you mean cd layout or the cd cover image?

Thanks. I have been able to make an image from a CD and even to burn it back to a blank CD. But I have some other questions... hopefully there is someone of you can give me information.

1. I burned (using Nero 5) an image onto a CD that contained some data burned by Roxio EasyCD Creator 5. What a surprise, after a successful burning, I can see my previous data (that was burned using EasyCD Creator 5) in the windows explorer. I think it is related to a mode called "Joliet" which I don't really understand what it is. When I burned the image I was told that the burning will be in a mode Joliet 1 whereas my previous data was burned in a mode Joliet 2. Is there anyway to get my previously-burned data back?

2. Is it a good idea to have two burning software in a PC, e.g., beside Nero 5 installed in my PC I will install CD-Mate suggested by Akalon?

3. Is it possible to burn several images from several CDs onto the same CD blank? Will burning an image finalize CD? Or will burning an image override the previously-burned data like what I have experienced?

Thanks for your help.

You know, like a .iso image? An archive of a cd in one file.
