I can't seem to download anything thats more than a few megabytes. Whenever i do, my download meter and anything related to the download just hangs and doesnt complete. The only thing that seems to be doing anything is the animation with the globe and the folder. BTW, im using IE6 on Windows XP Professional, with a cable modem. Ive been having this problem for a few days, it's really starting to piss me off. Please try to help me out here.

Check your router's settings, usually http://192.168.1.1 username: blank password: admin
Click advanced, then click forwarding, and check if any ports are forwarded.

Maybe it's IE messing up again? Try using another browser...
Opera (http://www.opera.com)
Mozilla (http://www.mozilla.org)
Netscape Navigator (http://www.netscape.com)
I recommend Mozilla for it's speed and reliability (it has never crashed on me). Opera is good if you dont mind ad-ware, and want to be able to make web sites think you're using MSIE 5.5. Netscape is just too slow and too cluttered for me, besides it's based on Mozilla 1.0 so why not use Moz instead.
I think Mozilla is the smallest download, but I'm not sure (~10mb)

Ever thought of trying a download manager?
Getright, Flashget, and Download Accelerator Plus all work fine.
