Ok, at the moment I have 2 problems with my PC.

First problem is that I have to reset my computer before I reconnect to the internet, otherwise if I don't, and I reconnect again, programs don't realise I have an internet connection active, so for example as soon as I press login in MSN it'll come up with a "check your internet connection" error.

The second problem is that Task Manager is ----ed up. I press alt+ctrl+del and then 1 second later, or less, the task manager window closes on me. I have a feeling that some program is causing this, but I cant get into task manager to check and close it!! :confused2

Thanks for any help

[ADD] These problems have only come in the last couple of days

Virus? Trojan? :)

Check your startup dir for some suspect program that is there. Make sure to check also the startup registry keys.

When you find the program, delete it from dos, since you wont be able to delete it from windows while using windows.

Try this and run your antivirus app and post what you've found, if youve found anything.

BTW, win95/98 task manager dosnt show all aps. Some can get hidden from it so its not a guarateed method to close some program.

Already done, nothing there

I suppose I should get an antivirus program then, eh?

Yeh, try AVG (http://www.grisoft.com).
