Hey, I have a small website that will open up soon. I'm wanting an ad company that doesn't make you enter your Social Security #. I have found valueclick. What experience have you guys had with them? Thanks!

ValueClick are fantastic. Although they are serving a large proportion of default inventory at present (as are most networks), they provide a strong, reliable service, and do pay.
I doubt, however, that they would accept a site that has yet to be launched.
Why, may I ask, do you not wish to enter your SSN?

Well, you see I'm still a teenager, and my parents don't feel confortable with me giving people my Social Security #... If anyone can tell me one that's good where I don't have to enter my SS#, please contact me...I needed a decent payoff, but not something extrodinary (though it would be nic)...Thanks!!!

Can I do that? Don't they do that for tax purposes?

lol, it's not reccomended.
Also, you'll need a finished website before they'll accept you. ;)

If I'm not mistaken ValueClick does ask for your Social Security number because they do need it for tax purposes. Although they don't ask for it online, I believe when they send you your first check they include the tax forms to fill out and send back to them.

Yes you are correct.
They will ask for the W9 form i believe and SSN before they pay you.

I started with ValueClick in February 1999, and have not had any real problem with them. They pay quickly and reliably, more so than the other ad networks I have dabbled with over the past couple of years.
And yes, I faxed them a form with my tax information at the outset of the relationship.
If you're doing business with someone, where they're legally paying you as an individual money on an ongoing basis, yup, they need your SSN. If you got a job, they would need your SSN before starting to pay you. ValueClick is no different.

Ok! Thanks for everyone's input. I'll probably end up using them after I release my site...

Supplying a false TIN will likely come back to haunt you eventually. When the government sees the name and number don't match up, they're gonna check into it.
