Just wanna ask ur opinions regarding the ff. free web space providers:

I'm currently considering three free webhosts but it seems to me that all are worth a try. I just want to ask your opinions regarding:

1. Freedom2Surf
2. Portland.co.uk
3. Nalhaz.com

Please, I want all ur opinions. I need that fastest one, the most reliable, and probably, the one who will stay on business longer. Also, I wish to know which has better services (the amount of space of the three are all ok), and if possible, please suggest other host which are similar to the three (10+ megs, cgi access, fast servers [they say], and no ads).

Lastly, I've been trying Freedom2Surf for sometime now, but it seems that when I log on the FTP, the server is sooo slow. I don't know if it is because of my location (SE Asia) or its normal. Suggestions/Comments/Violent Reactions !!!

Omari found the site http://www.freewebspace.net/forums/showthread.php?threadid=3391
http://www.barrysworld.com/hosting/offer.asp

25MB per site (only for non commercial sites)
PHP support
SSI support
CGI support in CGI-BIN directory
FTP only access to your hosting space
they have no ads

the ftp is fast and it only take 15min to get your account not like the rest where it take like 24hrs.as for portlad they suck i sign up about 4 days ago and i can't log in to the ftp.as for f2s i went to sign up and they got this
PLEASE NOTE: The new webservers are currently experimental - we expect them to be quite unstable for a few weeks. Only signup now if you do not mind lots of downtime!
but have a look at barrysworld.

F2S.com would definately be the choice.

I have been using F2s.com for about a month now and I never had a problem until the other day. I signed up my own domain through them as well and they now say that I cannot redirect my domain to my free site but I have to sign up for a paid web space. (24 pounds sterling a year). I must say though the free service is one of the best I've seen.

Thanks for ur replies!

How about nalhaz.com and barrys world winfield suggested? Any comments/violent reactions? And regarding f2s, do any of you have problems with its ftp speed? Please, I need all of your opinions 'coz I don't want to change my webhost anymore once I have established my site on it.

Thanks again!

Nope. Speed is fairly fast for me.

Well...I am a new member at nalhaz.com and I have set up the phpBB board there. If you have a phpBB board set up at f2s and then set up another one at nalhaz.com, you will find that the one at nalhaz.com is faster. Just go to nalhaz.com and click on the member's site and you can see the phpBB board that is set up there. I don't know if you are familiar with phpBB board but it uses MySQL database.

And yes, I do have ftp problems at f2s.com also. Sometimes I have to wait for hours for the its ftp to work again. That is why I am moving my phpBB board from f2s.com over to nalhaz.com. (just as soon as I learn how to use phpMyAdmin to dump data. :) )

Well, take Portland off the list because if it's bad transfer limit.
Nalhaz just started up, so we are not sure if it will last.
F2S has been up for a long time and will probably stay up for a long time.

Therefore, I suggest F2S.

Too bad though....it had a lot of options such as ASP and MySQL database. If only he could get more sponsors..... :(
