View Full Version : Can Someone Make A Suggestion?

Hi All,

Sorry to make a new topic, but after going through several threads and seeing some free hosts not coming through for so many here, I thought I might make my own post.

My dilemma is that I need a website with which to raise (God or diety of your choice willing) money for a video/film project. I have a script, but no money (Yeah, what else is new, right?). I at one time had webspace that I never used, but couldn't afford to pay the bill any longer so I had to let it go. :(

I don't mind ads, although, I'd rather not have pop ups. I don't have a domain, but would love to have a shorter URL. I suppose I don't need a lot of space (no more than 50mbs), but more bandwidth would be great. I have a background in public relations and plan on doing a helluva lot of promotion for the site including press releases geared toward radio, online outlets, print and what ever else my desperate mind can conjure up, so if someone wanted to run an ad for a webservice company on the site, hopefully it would be very successful. :D

I have no idea if this will work anymore than knocking on the door of an unfed pit bulls doghouse, but I'm just about willing to give anything a try. Like I said, I don't have a domain now, but maybe when I can afford one (Yes, I know they are cheap, but I'm more broke at this point than I've ever been in my life).

Anyway, I'm more than open to your suggestions. Here's to dreamin'.

So it's all been sorted now? The *extra* pop-ups, download prompts and so on?

What can you expect for $49 a month?

They do not just offer servers for $49 per month, they also have servers for $99 per month and above.

Question:
What do you expect for $49 per month?

Answer:
What I paid $49 per month for, which is what is classed in the products listing with specifications of the product, subject to the terms and conditions of service. I wouldn't expect 100% uptime and a quality server with 24/7 managed services for that price, considering the prices other companies charge and the wages a system admin would require, bandwidth charges, rackspace, server costs and IP costs.

Maybe you should take this arguement off the boards and public... He's asking for a host, not to listen to this.
