I dont understand why.
What benefit do they think they get?

Confused.

Does not clog up my regular email (which I get alot). Then I can review the junk later (with a quick trigger finger)when I've got the time.

If you mean URL redirectors, it seems like most people try to hide refferer links (like domain.com?reffid=nisse or domain.com/member/earl )
Those often generate money to someone and people does not always click on them. But if you hide it in a short (sorry for the bad examples) http://money.rules.it or http://brittney.shows.it, people might.

And so has happend, we (has.it) were shut down because of that :(

I use spamsux@pixel.com.kg on boards because if i start to get some spam frequently I just redirect that email to somewhere else and use a different redirect. It helps filter your ----mail.

yeah with a real addy you cant change it if you delete lets say your ''idrive'' act and they keep sending you newsletter you can delete your redir and make another one
