Hi, anyone knows a good program for making video CD or a converter of videos? I already have this program called Roxio VCD creator however when I try to add a video file it says The file filename.mpeg will not work in a VCD player. To make this file video CD compliant, you will need to use an MPEG encoder that supports Video CD encoding. So, do you know an MPEG encoder that supports Video CD encoding?

Valid VCD files ends in *.dat extensions. VCD standalone players WILL NOT PLAY *.mpeg files. So, you know what to do.....

he said he wants to create a VCD out of a .mpeg file, he needs an encoder that supports it..

sorry cant help you mate, try different program...

hmm, try re-encoding the .mpeg file into an older format, the vcd program might not be able to interpret the file, just a thought...

I just bought Pinnacle Express, however I don't have a DVD player (bought it so my folks could watch videos I make), and I've never tried it, let alone with various formats.

By the way, anyone have Studio v8 they'd like to get rid of? :D

first off, anything by roxio is complete and utter garbage.

get nero. nero will do a vcd for you, complete with the converting.

TMPGenc is also another great program that will do it all for you.

I dont have the URLs, otherwise I would have posted them

If you want I could talk you through creating a VCD with nero.

its fairly easy.

My father is bringing Version 7 in December sometime, but I can't wait that long!!! :D I'd love it, pleeeeeease! I'm assuming it does more than the Studio DV v1.1-ish that I have.
