OK, I'm a newbie to any of this scripting stuff, but could somebody tell me how to get started with creating a php website? What programs do I need, scripts, etc etc. I've seen a site made by a 13 year-old that runs with php so I'm sure I'll be able to do it.

Well, you'll need a webserver to test your scripts (I'm fond of Xitami (http://www.xitami.com) since PHP can automatically configure it.) Then go to php.net and download the latest stable release, be sure to block Xitami at your firewall. If you don't I will have to put a mirror-image "STUPID" stamp on your forehead ;). Then after you have both those installed, head on over to Webmonkey.com's (http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/01/48/index2a.html?tw=programming) PHP tutorial. They also have a tutorial on integrating PHP and MySQL.
I'm currently learning PHP, and it's not that hard. So don't let us condescending 13 year olds get in your way.... :chinese2:

I don't really want to script it myself, I'll just download my scripts and then maybe modify them, i just want to get a PHP-based site up and running. Anymore help would be appreciated...

You need a host with PHP support .(See Free Webspace FAQ (http://www.freewebspace.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26552) )
Then go to http://hotscripts.com/PHP/ for ready scripts .
And see php.net for more informations about PHP, and the manual (http://www.php.net/manual) for functions .

OK, I downloaded PHP-Nuke because I'm not a power user just want something simple and good-looking for my site. Now I just need to know what to edit in the config.php file and where and what to upload to my host. My host uses a public_html directory so i'm not sure whether to upload everything there or in the main dir. Anyway, I really would appreciate some help, links to noob guides, etc. would be very helpful.

I havent worked with PHP-Nuke, but you can see their site (http://phpnuke.org) for help.
And you should send you files to public_html directory (use a ftp program).

Don't worry, I have everything worked out now :) I'm just looking for a Warcraft 3 theme, if anybody could find me one, that'd be great.
