How do you delete a thread you started? I've been looking for the X button. Haven't seen it.

You can't anymore, unless you get a moderator or admin to do it.

Why not? It's the user's thread. He / she has the right to delete it.

It all goes back to an incident that occurred long, long ago...

One member started a thread-- I don't even recall what is was about now-- and then chose to delete it. Fine and well, you and I may say, but others were distressed by it. They challenged that since they had been carrying on a discussion in the thread, its starter had no right to delete it. Crybabies, you and I may say, if your discussion was that important, just carry it on to a new thread. Well, insults and outrages flew, one thing led to another, and now the ability to delete your own threads has been disabled.

Not that I don't agree, I do think a member should not be able to delete his threads, or individual posts, for that matter. What I disagree with was why the change happened. Said member had every right to delete his thread, those that spoke against him, in my opinion, were clearly in the wrong.

Events prior to that may have played a role, but this was the climax.

We're not even allowed to delete our individual posts? Grabe! And I thought it's the thread that's not allowed. :angry2:

No, you can delete your posts, as long as they're not the first in a thread.

ahh well too bad too many ppl contributed to the thread which made us now not able to delete our own thread.

they should make it like this: u can delete it until someone replies.

friend_al_23, if you make a booboo, just hit the "report this post" link and admin/mod will remove it for you.
