Anyway, I finished the prologue for my book a few nights ago.

Well, I agree that expecting a book to get published is almost impossible. Grammar and vocabularly is especially difficult for students that young; if you see most of the published books out there, they also have some type of complex central theme, and I have not met even the most talented 10-year old who has written a short story suitable for a book.

I recommend you write an editorial for a newspaper instead. I had mine published when I was 9. :)

I personally don't think trenz would have the patience or the inclination to write a 10 page book, much less a 300 page one.

Trenz, if you wanted to write a book, you would do it because you were inspired about something. You wouldn't ask what to write about, you would already know and do it. Much the same as when people say they want to make a website and ask opinions on what topic :confused2

Take a walk outside, get away from your laptop and who knows, something might just inspire you. :cool2:

The most children here can do is write a short original story about 1500 words [And it's already the highest]. Which is about 3 pages, hardly fits even a newspaper article length.

My grammer could be much better than all of you in this forum.:p

Well life really sucks, nothing to write about. What do you guys write about? I've written an article on friendship, I wonder how to put it into a book. Here's the article by the way:

Friendship is an essential part of life. Without friendship, life would really be boring.

I'm sure most (or all) of you coming here has at least one friend. Sometimes, getting to know them is a funny thing. You could never think of meeting them, or you could be enemies at first, but then, you end up being friends.

Try living without friends, it is hard to live with. I have experienced that feeling before, so I know what it is like.

If you really don't have friends and you want to make friends with one, be patient. Someone will come to you someday, somewhere. You could start out by talking to people you don't know, once you become more open and friendly with them, you could probably say, "they are your friends".

With the advancement of technology, friends doesn't mean an offline thing. You can probably make more friends online. Stuff such as Internet Relay Chat (IRC) programs and Instant Messenging (IM) programs are some useful tools. If you use Windows, I recommend download mIRC from http://www.mirc.com and you can get MSN Messenger at messenger.msn.com, ICQ at www.icq.com and AIM at www.aim.com. Those are some tools.

Forums are also another useful tool for making friends online. Go to www.yahoo.com or www.goggle.com and you can probably find loads of them. Just search for forums about (the topic you like) and you will probably find forums who are discussing about the topic you searched for. Many forums has a General Discussion forum, where you can discuss about anything in general.

Also, a boy-girl friendship doesn't mean a boy-girl relationship. You can be NORMAL or BEST friends, but not even being a boyfriend or girlfriend. Many people misunderstand that, and it is nothing embarrassing to talk about that.

Remember this, not all friends are good. You can find out when you are in trouble, and whether they will try their best to help you. If they know about it and they just don't care, those friends are just no use to you. Those people probably have bad intentions. Ditch them. True friends are people who will help you when you are in trouble. Of course, you have to help them too if you consider them to be your friend.

Friends confide with each other and they turn to each other when they need help. Help doesn't mean unreasonable stuff like, I need to borrow 20 million dollars from you. Good friends are too be trusted. If you keep being wary about them or you don't trust them, you might as well leave them.

Some of your friends may have bad habits, like smoking. If you want to be a good friend, help them. Tell them the dangers about smoking, or whatever their bad habits are. Persuade them. However, if they refuse, you shouldn't leave them, some are just addicted to it and may find it hard to stop. Keep on trying, and one day, you might succeed in making them stop.

Friends may also vent their frustrations on you for no reason. Talk to them patiently, and ask about what problems he has. He may be stressed. Or he may be unhappy about something. Never keep asking if he refuses the first them. That may, in return, make him get even angrier, and he may decide to put you on his "enemy" list, not "friends" list.

To develop a good friendship, go out with them. Even if you met them online, it shouldn't be a cause to worry. Of course, you have to be wary at first if you made this friend online, because he may be a baddie. There are many baddies on the internet waiting to murder you or something. When going out, ask them about their interest and stuff. Have fun together once you get a good friendship. Forget about them if you keep disagreeing with them or if they keep disagreeing with what you say. I'm not saying they are bad friends, but if you can't get along well if you knew them for many months, they are not worth your time. Try making friends with people who have the same interests as you, like what I said above. That may sound a bit harsh, but if you don't reach a compromise, it is pointless to continue your friendship with that friend.

If asking them the reason why they do not want to be your friend does not work, just forget it. Some may find it happy that you are in their need. Also, it is their own LOSS, not OURS.

And here is the end of an article about friendship, I hope this gives you good advice about making friends!

Grammer? What is "grammer"? I certainly have never heard of that! :p

Your story is OK, but certainly it would not be qualified for publication in a book all by itself! I found it, well, rather choppy. You need to work on fluency, and at the moment, it is very repetitive.

Page 2 and page 3:

Friendship: Page 2

Knowing Friends

All of you probably have friends in your life. All of them probably have different characteristics.

Have you ever thought of how you got to know them? There can be many odd ways of knowing them. Out of coincidence? Sometimes, even your enemies can become your friend someday.

Let nature take its course. Finding friends take time. Be patient. Something will come into your way, getting to know friends. Never force though. Like asking the same question over and over again (example: Never ask "Am I your friend" over and over again). This will probably make him or her more agitated and irritated with you and hopes of being a friend with him will never come true. Try socializing by going to libraries, clubs and stuff like that. To make friends, you have to be very sociable. Being an introvert won't make things better.

However, most of the time, you make friends by talking to each other. Unknowingly, you could just become friends. Any example? Well, examples are the best stuff. Here's one.

Jonathan is an extrovert. He likes socialising with people, talking with them, without being irritating of course. One day he goes to a club. He plays golf in the driving range. Well while taking a rest, he decides to talk to someone next to him, who is also resting. Well they talk and talk and talk. Unknowingly, they become friends and even exchange phone numbers.

That could happen in real life. But you probably want some personal experience? Here's how I got to know my best friend of many years.

Well many many years ago, when I was a first grader in school, some days before children's day, the art teacher wants us to design a card for someone. Well I decide to design one for someone sitting behind me, to meet him at (somewhere) on (somewhere). Well we actually met and from then on, became friends. Our friendship became better and unknowingly, we became best of friends in a very short time.

So probably you will have your very own way of making friends. Suggestions have been given above. Now it's your turn to play your part. Everyone is unique.

Now with a advancement of technology, knowing friends isn't just offline. You can make friends online, just as I always do. Some of these are via IM programs, IRC chat programs and forums. I have many friends whom I have met online. I was introduced to some people too, like if they would help me with that etc. After helping me, we may chat with each other and eventually become friends too.

Unless you really trust that person, never give out your telephone number or address if you met that person online. He may have a ploy to murder you or something. Chances of these are perhaps not common, but it does happen. Take several safety precautions before meeting them.

One good IRC program for Windows is mIRC, one good IM program is MSN Messenger. Of course you have your own likings. What about forums? Just search for them at any search engine and they will probably return lots of results with the interest you want.

Expand your connections all you want, especially with the advantages of meeting friends like the opposite side of Earth from you on something mysterious called the internet. Be sociable, as I said, be an extrovert, then you can meet more friends and you'll be one happy guy, instead of that boring and unhapppy person in "Introduction to Friendship" (Page 1).

Also remember this, making and knowing friends is your happiness. If you're not intending to do it for any reason, it's nobody loss except your own. Here's another friendly reminder: Always mix with friends you think are good and has good qualities. If they have bad qualities, and you are a good friend, try to help them kick their habit. If they don't and you don't like their habits, think. Think whether you still want this friend. If you want, be a friend to him still, as if he doesn't have these bad qualities. Never mix with bad friends though, who influence you with their bad stuff, such as stealing things.

If you think they are good friends, mix with them. If you know them as one whole group, that is even better. Mixing with your friend's friends means more friends and happiness for you. So mix with them if you think they are worth mixing with.

This probably sums up the chapter of Knowing Friends, go to the next page for another chapter.

Books are seldom formal writings. Textbooks and reference manuals, maybe, but most of them are informal now, too. No reason you can't use can't, or anything like that. When's the last time you actually saw o'clock spelled out?

Never misunderstand 5
Trust 6
Talk freely 7

Well it means i only have 11 chapters which could mean 11 pages only! If you have suggestions on what chapter to make tell.

My first two pages of World War III:

World War 3: Page 1

Notice: I wish for peace, and not war. This book is just science fiction.

Chapter 1: How it all started

I remember one day many years ago, when World War 3 started. It all began in New York, USA. The date was September 11th 2001. I remember seeing the two World Trade Center crashing down into pieces in just hours, the quarterly destroyed Pentagon and the people who died.

Later on, there were attacks on many countries. That was just the beginning, which we thought was the worst.

This thing was really confusing. I don't really remember what happened... I just remember the war lasted an amazing 40 years and I survived.

Now it is 2047, and the war luckily have ended some years ago.

I will tell you of my survivor story, after going through all these hardship and stuff, I'm happy to be back, alive.

World War 3: Page 2

Notice: I wish for peace, and not war. This book is just science fiction.

Chapter 2: The war

In 2001 and 2002, all these bombing were thought to be the worst already. However, it was just the beginning. The terrorist groups wanted to continue to destroy the whole world. No one knows why. They are destroying their own lives by destroying us. Their base was in a new country called "Terrorlasia". It is located in North-east Asia and it was named by the Americans. Visit that place and you'll find that it is the only peaceful place in the world. Everyone was enjoying the sun over there, and they made their own stuff, even computer processors of speeds up to 3GHz. You could also see the warplanes and bombs in the making, that is not a pleasant sight!

In 2003, all the semiconductor manufacturers went bankrupt shortly after introducing their new top of the line 6GHz processors. But who cared about that in times of war? Power lines exploded, and we lived in darkness. Soil became barren, because of the effect of radiation which came from the bombs. Phone lines exploded. ISPs closed down. Computer manufacturer closed down. Everyone was back to the generation thousand of years before, except that it was even worst. Tell time? Watch the sun. Watch television? In your dreams. Log on to the internet? No ISP. Play computer games? No computer. Play X-BOX, Playstation 2 and Gamecube? How would you find the power? Play your favourite Gameboy Advance? Yes, batteries do work, but would you risk your life by wasting time playing these sort of games? You probably can't do anything except running. Why not walk? You can, but terrorists are walking around everywhere, and probably will shoot you when you're not noticing. Talk? If only we have the time. Everyone was on the lookout.

George Walker Bush, the President of United States, was helpless as the Bush Administration couldn't locate the mastermind and the terrorist organizations headquarters. He decided to prepare his warplanes, warships, army and navy for fighting back against the terrorists. Every country except Terrorlasia joined him with the fight. They had to co-operate. Scientists were busy in their underground laboratories to invent something more powerful than Nuclear bombs, later named as Nuclear i bombs. The "i" meant improved. Bombs were a little expensive, so they also invented "Radiawave", which sprays radiation when needed. It could be used to spray planes and more. The aim was to destroy all the terrorists and Terrorlasia.

Thanks to the advanced technology they used, 1 243 403 warplanes, warships, bombs and submarine were successfully made. Every male above 15 and below 30 had to join the army in the fight. Thanks to this, there was a total of 1 304 302 people in the army. Communication was made by cellphones. At that time, it seemed that no one had cellphones except the army. A new invention, war robots, was also used. This cool thing was built with bullets of powerful rifles and small bombs. 9 303 939 such robots were used in this fight as there were not enough trained people to fight in the army. The robots were a failure, however, as they went around exploding at wrong times, and unfortunately, they were no longer used in 2005. America then lifted the ban of cloning, and cloning turned out successful and what more, they are humans with brains.
