View Full Version : Need Reliable Service

It's pretty simple but I still have not found a Free host with this:

I need about a 5MB limit, more prefered.
I need a cgi-bin so I can set up a discussionboard (Not unlike this one).
I need FTP access.
I need a reliable host that will not crash or remove my site (or go out of buisness).
It cannot have a big top banner, that totally takes away from my site as I have a top menu that needs to go there. A pop-up (or under ad or foot banner is fine (No ads would be nice but I don't mind them too much).
A you.freehost.com would be better, but that is another thing I don't really mind because I can target through cjg.net.
And one last thing: I really need to get my site up quickly, and I would prefer a no application site. I am hoping to have it up for testing tomorrow night.

By the way, this isn't a commercial website, it is for my music.

Thanks

if you want a discussion board you should also try PHP since that is less load on the server.

um - you coudl try geocities.com - i konw they have that horrible ad banner down the side thing going on, but if you get a redirect name from www.dot.tk - (yourname.tk) the ad banner doesn't show (i have a page with tracks for a racing game i play on geocities http://hrtracks.tk) - you can see that only the dot.tk banner pops up (only once while you're at the site) and the geocites banner is not there).

i have found them to be really reliable, they're never been down while i've used them (about a year)...

hope that helps

Yeah, I have been using geocities but they do not have cgi nor ftp. I'll look around some more but when I did last time I didn't find anything. Thanks for your help.
