Lately i've been getting a lot of BSODs caused by my video drivers.

I've got an nvidia TNT2 32mb card. i'll try and watch a movie, but part way through my computer will freeze, and I'll be greeted with a blue screen telling me that my video drivers are at fault.

Sometimes the screen says my video bios is out of date. What do i need to do to fix it? does someone have a better video card they could give me
:biggrin2:

Try downloading the latest drivers and see if this helps?

The new nvidia drivers are HORRIBLE for older cards. I suggest getting the 21.23(? I think it's this one, though I'm not sure) Detenators...if you can find them.

[edit]Maybe you should flash your bios....

That depends on what kind of motherboard you have...

it says i need to update my video bios, not my main one.

I have some type of MSI motherboard. It's a pretty red color.

video bios/main bios...I can't tell the difference.

As for the MSI, what chipset is it?

MS-6547 is the model number.

You can look for it on www.msi.com.tw

I found 2 matches but they are v2.0 and v2.1.

Thanks Daniel.

I think I got the video stuff taken care of.

I wasnt able to flash my bios though, because I needed a floppy disk, and I dont even have a floppy drive.

Aren't the 40's still in beta?

Downgrade to the lower(20s and 30s) Detenator drivers.

Most likely i had the old drivers to begin with. They sucked too.

It should say in your device manager what drivers you have.

Try using some other drivers?

Try uninstalling whatever drivers you have, then go through your system folder and make sure all the files are gone, then look through the registry to make sure all the entries are gone (you might need some help where to look...cause I can't remember), and then, install some other drivers. I don't know much about nVidia cards...so, I don't know which drivers would be best for that card. You would think any compatible drivers would be able to not make BSOD's, but...
