dont bother with those sites that "promise" you a lot of hits to your site..its just a scam to promote their own advertising and it never works..believe me, ive done it myself..best way to get traffic to your site is by word of mouth..promote your site everywhere you can..a few banners and links here and there can work but doesnt generate the big traffic that word of mouth does..also it helps that your site offers something different than the normal standard stuff that every other site offers, that attracts new visitors all the time

It depends, do you want to make money or make your counter look great. There is www.hits123.com. It is not "true" traffic but make the counter move. Everyone is doing this and selling traffic on Ebay. You surf in a framed page but it is nothing more than the same person looking at your site every 30 minutes or so.

I find those automatic hit things absolutely pointless, because no one is actually looking at your site. Its like cheating I say. CHEATING! :P

I'm a user at one of those, and if a site is interesting I bookmark/register on it and come back. Of course, no site has been interesting...because all the sites in the database aren't worth looking at because they're all MAKE $10000s of dollars by reading e-mail!!! sites...
I've added a few of my sites to the one I've signed up with and it didn't work squat. No one even saw the site
