Who is using them? I lost my connection this morning and still can't get it back :cry2: I just tried calling their support but there was a looooooong delay, which indicates there is a major problem.

I am just glad I kept my dialup service or I might be using some *choice* words by now :p

What's Telstra/Big Pong ?

Jan

Australian internet service providers :)

Telstra is also the backbone of many providers and now that I think back, not many Aussies have been around today :confused2

Readin whirlpool.net.au it seems that one of their main servers for allocating IP's to cable users has crashed, maybe this is also affecting ADSL users?

I think it is affecting both. This board has been almost Aussie free today

My Internet connection (Optus @Home) has been playing up for the last 24 hours or so. It either works, just loads pages and no images, or loads nothing. Not happy.

I have my broadband back :) Seems it was a major problem if Optus was affected too

We told you Telstra were **** :)

But hey, you don't seem to listen so what do you expect. You get better personal service from other providers.

It's always wise to keep your 56k connection.

I've always had problems with Pacific Internet Broadband, just wait for a while and use your 56k first. No need to be so scared.:p

Indeed! I have the dialup account prepaid for another 12 months (it was an 18month special) but I got sick of the 4 hourly disconnections and the phonebill getting too high. My last phone bill was $26 down on the previous month for local calls.

My isp offers 10 hours of free 56k dial-up a month.

I only used it on my laptop though.
