I was using the Colt (I think it's colt, but the no. to buy is 4-3) today and my friends were using the silencer. Does it affect the damage done by adding it and what else does a silencer do except to silence the gun?

the colt is more accurate with silencer.
It also affects the damage. I've read thet colt+silencer makes more damage then colt without silencer.

Actually, hohoho, it's the other way around. The silencer decreases damage and accuracy but the trade-off is that you can't tell where it's coming from by sound.

Yes, same with the pistol. And try to find it during a firefight on Assault when a CT with an M4 (the colt) sneaks in the back and starts picking off T's not paying attention to the back. :p

This question is always debatable. :D

I feel that with the silencer on, the first 5 shots or so are more accurate. The gun gets less accurate if you hold on to the trigger longer. Without the silencer, the accuracy is always pretty stable. :biggrin2:

I hate using the silencer. I suppose it's good for sneak attacks, when outnumbered, but generally I use it unsilenced, as it does do more damage, and is a lot more accurate. And usp, it's damn good unsilenced, silenced, it sucks.

I use everything unsilenced except for that time I was suicide bombing (we have lots of fun at the server I play at: SB: Holding a nade and when you die it lets go killing whoevers around you) and I ran right through them (Theire supposed to shoot me) so I silenced my colt, shot 2 in the head, than knifed the last.

I do something like that as a little "protection" on Assault.....I hold a grenade with the pin out then watch the monitors the whole round if all i can afford is a pistol, if some CT makes it through the vents even with my announcements to the team, and doesn't get turned into swiss cheese by their rounds, right after they shoot me they get a little surprise...It's really fun to hear them scream "NADE SPAMMER C0KKSUKKA N00B FAG" like the 9 year olds they are then either get told off by the admin or vote_kicked off the server for being stupid.

La Shiz, I should start playing at that server.....sounds fun

I'm speaking out of experience here. The silencer is less accurate and does less damage. Ask him if he ever wondered why the crosshairs spread apart when you put the silencer on and get closer when the silencer is off...that takes care of accuracy, not damage, I have done more frags at long range with a silencer because they couldn't find me but close range, definitely without the silencer, i've survived more firefights without the silencer.
