Some comments on those that I have used (or am very familiar with):

Click2Net - (www.click2net.com)

- Great. Has been offering low payouts (6-8 cents/click) in the past, but has expressed their plan to increase this to 10 cents+ for quality sites. Seem to be struggling to establish their new Singapore office.

EAds - (www.eads.com)

- Good. I personally had a negative experience with this company 2 years ago, but have heard many positive comments since then. There are better options out there, but they're not a bad second-choice.

Web Site Sponsors - (www.websitesponsors.com)- Asian sites in english eligible?

- Great. Not accepting new sites. When they are accepting, they now only consider sites from the US and Canada. Great payouts, great service.

Affiliate Target - (www.affiliatetarget.com)

- Very bad rep. Many Asian-based affiliates have reported payment withholding, or undue termination. As far as I am aware, nobody has ever graduated to their CPM program. Try all others first.

Amazing Media - (www.amazingmedia.com)

- Not bad. Have cut their rates in half, and terminated several members of late (myself included). Payments are constantly late, but do arrive. They make a great default option due to their fixed rates. Worth exploring.

Bullex - (www.bullex.org)

- Bad rep. Seems to be dead. Don't waste your time.

Clear Blue Media - (www.clearbluemedia.com)

- Quite good, but suffering. They have virtually closed their banner program, and now seem to mainly support their popunder option. Not accepting new sites.

ContentZone - (www.contentzone.com)

- Mediocre. Formerly known as The Commonwealth Network, which was taken to court in a class action lawsuit launched by its affiliates due to non-payment. Owned by 24/7 Media, which isn't in the most secure financial position:

eads is dead, and has been for several months now... I don't know why they're still on pretty much every 'webmaster affiliate program' site... i guess it's cuz of their old 10% referral thing.

Thanks for the heads-up CB!

I was one of those offending sites until a few minutes ago...and I wasn't even collecting the referral payment since I left the network back in 97.

I guess that's why the eAds crew has stopped sending me emails about the negative review that I had given them. ;)

actually i loved eAds... Nice payment (was getting 12-13 cents/click), choice between 5 banners (sometimes they actually had banners that had to do with gaming, for my gaming site... a rarity with any ad-network).

always paid right on time. Minimum check only 10bucks. Fast servers... Almost everyone got accepted... Too bad they died :(

i know....eAds was the best...i got my first cheque from them and then after a few days they dropped their program to 5c a click so i still kept going but then they shut down!....and the best part was...my ads were targeted! :)
i wish they are still alive

Those perform well, as do fake alert windows, 'punch-the-monkey' style ads and banners that look as though you are downloading a file (ie Club Regal Casino at CJ).

If you're being paid on a CPC basis, ads like these are a godsend. Most of the time, though, these information-starved ads will pay on a CPM basis.

What about search box programs? any good ones?

Czar
March 25th, 2001, 10:33
Well, we're going a little off-topic now, but anyway...

The best searchbox programs that are still accepting new members are SearchTraffic (5 cents/2nd page click), AdSearches (3-12 cents/first click), GoClick (2 cents/first click - flat rate) and GoTo.com (2 cents/first click - flat rate).

There are more solid performers in operation (such as Searchbucks and SearchReferral), but which aren't presently accepting new members.

When it comes to banner ads, I have yet to find ANY better than the punch the money. More that consisten 5% CTR, and this was on various sites I tested it out.

For search boxes, try SearchPrograms.com. They have quite a few reviewed, and you can add your own comments eve.

ValueAd's founder is a member of Geek/Talk. You can find a great deal of information about this firm by visiting the following page:
http://geekvillage.com/ubb/search.cgi?action=intro&default=4
And searching for "ValueAd".

Just though I would mention that Click2Net do pay higher than mentioned above, particularly for UK sites, I for example was approached by one of their sales people and get 20 cents for each click.

Malcolm, rates that you are offered can vary dramatically from rates that you receive.

Did you actually sign up with them to test this theory?

BTW, I don't want this to seem like an attack on Click2Net, as I consider them to be a reputable firm. It's meant as an industry-wide criticism about networks who offer far more than what they deliver in practice.

Yeah, I did sign up for them but my current (old) layout for FreesiteUK isn't the best for a CPC programme and I am too busy with DVDBlokes to finish the new layout, so it is only shown 50% of the time.

And they do pay 20 cents. In fact, when I stopped using them (when the code was deleted by mistake), another sales guy called me up and told me that they may be able to offer me a higher rate if I continued to use them in a few more months.

That's fantastic news. It verifies the claims made to me by a Click2Net staff member a few months ago, but which a few existing Click2Net members disputed.

I guess only those sites with suitable demographics see the higher rates.
