Your opinion on http.ac

I've been trying, off and on, to create a redirection service with http.ac. But after domain names came to $10 there doesn't seem like much use. I still see people asking for free domains, but would http.ac//youname.com still be a good idea in this era of cheap domains?

P.S. I also own site.sh, would this make a better service?

I would go with the second one... Most people don't the "fake domains" too seriously.
