Is direct connect the thing you use to transfer files in AIM?

its a protocol used in some p2p programs, im not sure if aim uses it.

Direct is a P2P program. The protocol is something different.

kazza has about 2million people logged on every time i use it....why would anyone use anything but kazza?? (:rolleyes: i'm not being smart, i really want to know)

hmm, kazza is loaded with spyware and ad banners and popups, the p2p programs using DC dont have that crap, also half of those 2 million people on kazza arn't sharing any files, the servers for the DC programs make you share so much or you dont get on.

DC is better because you can find hubs that specialize in what you want. Not to mention you can browse any particular user's files.

I stick to kazaa unless I need something rare or hard to find. then its off to DC and Usenet.

it's alot easier to find 192+ quality mp3s on winmx than on Kazaa.
