Poll: http://www.proxy2.de

Shoutbox: http://www.webfroot.co.nz/shoutbox/

I assume that you want to install them yourself.

Hmmm... I found a lot of tag boards nowadays, but I didn't like it because it's remotely hosted. Anyone knows the alternative to http://www.webfroot.co.nz/shoutbox/ that I can install myself, because shoutbox needs register_globals to be turned on, and I don't like that...:(

write your own...the webfroot script is poorly coded, it's resource intensive and does things the long way.

A shoutbox has to be one of the easiest things to code. Agreed, not everyone can code, but it's not hard to take a script that works fairly will and...fill-in-the-blanks. Thats how I learned PHP ;) Hmm, maybe I'll be nice and write a shoutbox script. For polls, yer on yer own. Way too many out there to introduce another one into the world. :p

A shoutbox is where people can post messages, and it shows the last twenty messages.

A member of my forum has made a flat file shoutbox: http://www.devay.com/devay/showthread.php?s=&threadid=536
