The threads have been filled with, "What are the cheapest registrars?", etc. Check this forum (a few pages of it), and you should be able to find what you are looking for.

I already looked thru and I found a few $10 domain registrations. I was just wonderin if I could get one for cheaper. But I guess not..lol

And JUST when I thought I found the lowest price for a domain, someone has to blow it away. If price findings keep getting lower at the pace they are, I estimate I should be able to find a domain for $1 in a few weeks... :)

$8.88 is about the lowest I've seen. Really it won't get much lower than that due to a fee that is charged to all registrars (which I beleive is around $6). If you want cheaper, become a reseller for a registrar, or buy in bulk.
