Hello I am John Mitchell from http://www.HumanHorizons.net
and we are developing a Radio Human Horizons FOR the developing world. As well as indigenous music and features we will also have feed from the United Nations. We do not use money, do not have a bank account and rely entirely on volunteers. We badly need free hosting space of about 400mg for music files etc. We wish to move away from Live365 our beta testing host. This is somewhat urgent. Thanks John

Well, if you're REALLY desperate, try:

http://home.crosswinds.net/

or

http://www.stas.net/

If you have a current site that gets 2000+ hits a day you could try out http://www.freededicatedservers.com . They dont care what you put up, but you need to have a site up and running already to be eligible

Crosswinds and stas will not host music files. I know, i have been there. They might say they do, but when you contact them and ask they tell you no. Your files and account will be deleted. I know i have been there.

you actually think he's on his own dedicated server? I doubt it...It's probably some 16 year old kid hosting sites from one computer on his cable modem

I disagree. I too know someone with a site on freededicated servers. I have my doubts about the cable modem bit. His site is big- 1.2 GB, and gets about 7000-20000 hits a day, which would tax a cable modem heavily. Whatever it is it seems to work-- for now

Gayowulf

We

Why can't you list it? You're just not allowed to self-promote more than once and post links to warez/porn (illegal) sites.

Thank you for your assistance, however folks we need people to help us find that space. We are trying to assist the developing world and we need help to do that. Not a little mini-war between some of the contributors.

So far we have had no luck and more to the point, have any of you actually looked at our website http://www.HumanHorizons.net?
John

Your current host, F2S, is a nice host. Keep it.

BTW, you last updated on Feb. 10th?

Forget my first sentence, it doesn't exist. :o

I suppose you can TRY gcsnet.net, email their support and ask them if they'll host whatever you have, they usually reply within a day.

nope-- no retrograde amnesia here. ill ask the webmaster to join these forums and tell you all about his experiences With freededicated servers.

Only one place for mass storage: nbci.com . Someone said that they have unlimited space, i disagreed. But anyway, they have huge space!

Don't know about crosswinds speed, but they have a lot of space, and allow media files!

Crosswinds is now supposedly very fast since everyone left them when they used popups. You might want to try them out now.

Oh yes, you can also kill the popups by using a redirection service that loads your site in a frame (URL Cloaking they call it)

To the best of my knowledge, Crosswinds still intentionally throttles download speeds of large files just to save money on bandwidth (they aren't rich like Nbci). So I wouldn't use them for a download site if I were you.

The site dedicated severs site is down and we're yet to see any URL of sites hosted on the server(s, I doubt it :P). All roads point to Scam.
