To anyone that has a spare moment... I have a mirror site setup that I use as a testing area for major redo's and stuff... Most of the time, it's an exact copy as it is now... Since I've had conflicting reports as to the speed my site loads, check out both http://www.alexiacafe.com and http://www.alexiacafe.net and see if there's any difference in speed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

Hmm... Interesting... I'm usually on from work where we have a T1/LAN connection and it's usually not that bad. I know it has slowed down some though since I added more Java applets.

Hmm... I've never had it take that long... Which address did you use? The .com and .net versions are each on totally different servers.

the .net version loads a bit faster... but still slow.

The .net address loaded up in a few seconds on my cable connection.....the .com address is still loading as I type this....its probably been about a minute, and I see nothing still....

Well it looks like it was the OrbitCycle ads that were bogging everything down. Today it took FOREVER to load either version of my page and when it did, OC was down completely. So I removed them from both versions of my page and reloaded them and now it seems pretty speedy... To me at least. :)

It's faster but it still painfully slow..

That seems to have been the reason. I'm using cable and it loaded within 10 seconds now... You have so much off site content which is probably the reason why it still takes about 10secs.

Im guessing its the Java stock ticker thats slowing everything down.
