Just now I got this error:

Warning: Too many connections in /usr/home/freewebspace/www/forums/admin/db_mysql.php on line 38

There seems to have been a slight problem with the database.

In the last 2 weeks, I also get those errors, especially the 'too many connection" thingy. Maybe an upgrade is needed for the server hosting this forum?

I guess so, just now I was like, the only user online?

And the server has been slower for me today...

if Todd gets 1 email per user who gets this error, then his inbox should be full now :D

I know what the problem is :)

Someone (or more than one) has artificially inflates the view number of this single thread to more than 20000. Considering that that thread contains about 10~ post, the amount of views is way too large.

I guess it might be me accidentally... Very sorry. If I'm not mistaken my baby cousin was pressing all the buttons for about 5 mins, when I went to the toilet, pulled him away. But surely its more than that? Didn't mean to, but I didn't get errors. :confused2

I assure you it wasn't you. :)

You caught me in the middle of backing up the message boards database file. Needless to say this forum is huge and the server load did indeed spike, hence the message you saw.

When that was finished I restarted mysql and everything returned back to normal. Sorry about the outage, it probably lasted for a few minutes.
