View Full Version : What the Hell is wrong with MSN?

And I expect that standard unfunny "Microsoft blows" jokes to be the immediate answers. How 'bout we save those for another time?

Anyway, normally when I log on to my computer, MSN logs me in automatically. Today, it didn't. No problem, I thought, it's just down. What else is new? So anyway, about 45 minutes later, I try again. No dice. Just for curiosity's sake, I try signing in under another account. First try, I'm in. So I sign out, enter my regular account info again, and I can't get in.

Naturally, I'm confused. How can one account work, but not the other. I know nothing's wrong with my account, I just checked my e-mail through the Hotmail website.

So I ask again...what the Hell is wrong with MSN?

Different accounts are hosted on different servers.

Okay, this isn't a "Microsoft blows" reply, although it will seem like it - seriously, you need to download Trillian. I don't know if it will solve this particular problem, but it sure as hell solves a lot of others.

www.trillian.cc

MSN has been really annoying lately, like the night it was "signing out" of my account for about 3 and a half hours, no joke.

One stupid thing I've noticed about MSN, is that it doesn't let you use a heap of words in your usernames. And I'm not talking swear words, I'm talking normal words.

Words like 'workers' 'president' and uhh... thats all I can remember right now, but there's heaps of them.

:confused2

I haven't been able to sign in at all today.

BTW, I don't really care if Trillian is good or not, I don't feel like downloading anything right now.

Mine has been fine all day. Maybe try disabling auto sign in. I just open mine when I feel like it and so far no problems.

it wouldn't let me use the word "satisfaction" at one point. Which was only mildly irritating, but still stupid.

Trillian :biggrin2: Also couldn't connect to MSN. And it's too complicated, it sucks. And it takes a whole lot of time to load, I can load MSN, AIM, IRC and ICQ within that time.

Because your computer is slow...

Funny...Somehow, I doubt that your computer is any slower than mine (if so you probibly wouldn't be connected to the internet ;)) and yet you talk about opening various chat programs in the space of time trillian loads. I couldn't load any one chat program in the time trillian has taken to load recently. It may be a RAM problem...I've stopped a bunch of useless programs from hogging my RAM recently. Go through your Start Menu -> Startup folder and your Registry (can't remember which classes...it's Software -> Microsoft -> Current Version -> Run is the startup stuff) and delete the crap. Then you've got more RAM and faster startup times :)
