Well, well, well. Looks like our friend, JL, wants to be the next FreeWebSpace.net.

Could it be more like this forum?

Maybe the number of posts...

"The envious copy the best."

"Then they get sued."

Well, they didn't copy all of it...
For example:
Free Webspace is changed to Free Hosting
Ad Revenue is changed to Ad Services
There's no Domain Registration forum
No Review My Site forum
General's been changed to General Discussion
Site Feedback is changed to Feedback
There's no Test things out forum.

See? They aren't the same! ;)

Also, the "Web Hosting" category was changed to "Webhosting". "Web Services" was changed to "Services". And then, the fact that it has JL listed as the moderator everywhere and the last poster on most of the boards is certainly different.

Other than the layout, configuration, the choice of boards, the color scheme, and the entire site, it's not the slightest bit similar. :)

Don't forget, this one also has no ads on the top of the site except for Domain Registration and Paid Hosting unlike JL's.

haha, i remember that domain and that stupid "jl" with a trademark symbol, from the old forums here. what a lame----.

he even took the little square dots from here for the read and unread threads, etc. i'm sure they didn't originate here, but it's most likely not some strange coincidence either. that is really gay.

Those dots were actually created by me... It's the same dot as the yellow one in the top menu.

well that sheds a bit of light on things. talk about cheap.

i guess imitation is the sincerest form of envy, or something... but that's taking it a bit far.

If it wasn't for the fact that that JL dude is desperately trying to imitate this forum, which includes stealing everything, it would've looked all right.

How un-original. Sad.

Looks to me that the board is a pirated version of vBulletin...

You know how I figure that?? There aren't very many posts on the board... and its version 1.13... and the only versions that are in the member's area are 1.16 and 2.0 beta 3...

Now you do the math....

keith

well, i thought that was just assumed.

Coolin

Well, that site could have been up for a while with no users... But I still think it's the pirated version. No one would set up a vBulletin and have only 20 posts on the entire board.

yeah i agree with you.
