Anybody have any idea what the hell happened to them? They've managed to screw me royally over the past week.

If you've been considering hosting with them, I suggest you stay the hell away.

This may not be related, but I thought it's an interesting thing to share with you all...

I was actually considering signing up with Atom Hosting for a while before I went with Prime Net (although I am not really happy with Prime Net either and will likely switch within this week). However, I tried clicking on the 'sign up' page like a good 5-10 times, every time with a '404 error'. I guess that pretty much tells you how 'reliable' and 'good' their service would be...

Forgive me for not going into details (I've -----ed and moaned enough in the past week,) but you can get the gist of my problem in this here thread (http://66.78.4.100/cgi-bin/cultforum/ikonboard/topic.cgi?forum=27&topic=31&start=10) at http://cultforum.com.

Essentially, it seems they've completely gone under in the past week. I have absolutely no access to my account. Their support has suddenly disappeared. Even the answering machine that passed for their phone support is apparently at the bottom of the Pacific with the Mir.

Stay away from them at all costs.

So...
Atomhost owned by globiqnetworks?

By the way, not to be rude, but this isn't the first time I heard that atomhost's support is not so satisfying. Maybe you should have a check yourselves for your support department or whatever.

Bogdan:

I emailed you via this board. Please note that you should reply to the one listed in the body, rather than the hotmail address that I have listed on this message board.

Bogdan:

I've sent you another one. A bit morse terse this time, but I'll leave it at that.

I have a feeling that ValuableHost has been sending emails to the support addresses listed on the AH site. Which is what I was doing.

Does anybody actually read those?

To current Atomhost customers who are having problems:

http://rsa-networks.com has an offer you can't refuse.

Whups, missed this part:

We gave more than a month to transfer, sent warnings, and posted news on message board about this.

Doesn't that sound a bit, uh, ironic?

Did you mean this (http://atomhost.net) message board?

bogodan, i have already thanks for the response although it wasnt the intended one :( And yes i have been sending emails to support with no reply..

RSA-Networks, look similar to atomhost so are their plans :(

"RSA" stands for Russell S. Albee, the former Atomhost guy. He's apparently decided to start his own company. I liked AH's plans, which is why I've signed up with RSA. Hell, you get the first month free if you sign up right now.

Bogdan:

I won't deny that some of the assertions I've made on this and other message boards have been a bit, uh, flamelike, but while I may regret their tone, I don't retract their content.

I have never recieved any email from any AH rep regarding the server transfer.

Numerous emails I sent to the support addresses listed on your site were never answered. The various mechanisms by which you have tried to provide support (such as the original complaint forms that were taken down a few weeks ago) have never really worked. The message board, when it was actually running, was a poor vehicle to provide support.

I've run into quite a few former (and soon-to-be former) customers who have experienced the same problems.

I hereby promise to stop my unsolicited spouting off about Atomhost. If someone asks for opinions, however, I won't hesitate to relate the issues I've had with your company.

Later, and good luck,

—Liam

As I recall there WAS a special forum in the Vbulliten called "Tech Support". You guys got buried in your own deals and promises. Not upholding the 99.9% uptime and such. Try hosting from our end. You'd be suprised.

That is because he copied our plans, and some of the content ideas.

Thanks,

Atom Host,

Recently it came to my attention that you posted a comment about my company. Allow me to respond to your post.

First, 100% of my website (http://www.rsa-networks.com/) has been hand coded by me using Notepad, the default text editor included with Microsoft Windows. It's very big of you to call it "your content idea." The content of your site is no more unique than almost every other hosting company on the web. It is standard procedure to include content such as welcome (home) page, news, hosting plans, contact information, etc.

Second, RSA Networks is your competitor. Its only good business practice for us to match or surpass your plans. If you have a problem with competition then maybe you shouldn't be in business.

Finally, it is poor business practice to try and downgrade your competition. Instead of attempting to make your competition look bad, you should concentrate on promoting your company.

Sincerely,

Russell S. Albee

Valuablehost:

RSA Networks is in no way affiliated with Atom Host, I can guarantee that. I started out hosting with Atom Host and then left them and started my own hosting business on the 15th of March, 2001.

If anybody has any questions feel free to E-mail info@rsa-networks.com.

Thank you,

Russell S. Albee

Their servers were upholding to 99.9% uptime - the server was up the whole time, it was just VDI's crappy network that was down, or something, therefore Atomhost was up, just VDI prevented us from accessing it. :) You can't blame a company for being down when there was nothing wrong on their side. It's like blaming Sony for not getting your new HiFi to you, when it was the delivery company's van that broke down... ;)

And, someone said that rsa is also at VDI? Well then they will incur the exact same down times, because it is VDI's problem.

They promised that our websites would be accessable for 99.9% of the time. We shouldn't have to go into where the server is, connections, etc. All websites were unaccessable for more than .1% of the time. And not getting a tech response until I said I was leaving? At least rsa could reply, even if it were bad news unlike AH which shut down the tech forum, had the phone # as a recording, and didn't reply which made it look like they were going under. rsa answers. I'd rather move to rsa even if it were a few $$ more if I knew I would get a reply. Sorry Bogdan but you need to go back to business school brother.
