I read and article entitled
UFO files will soon be out there (http://www.zdnet.com.au/newstech/enterprise/story/0,2000025001,20270296,00.htm)
do you believe in the existence of life on other planets??

Of course aliens exist, I doubt anyone thinks otherwise. Those from other planets, though, that's another story.
If you mean "alien" as in "any form of life", then perhaps, but if you mean silver giants with big heads and black eyes zipping at the speed of light in intergalactic spaceships landing in Farmer Brown's corn fields, no, I don't believe in those.

*raises hand*
I voted no, assuming the context was other lifeforms outside of this planet. No, I don't think that there were/are other lifeforms that exist(ed). I believe that they _could_ have, that there _could_ be other planets capable of supporting life, but I don't believe that any other planets have. I certainly don't believe that they just evolved there by chance (or that that happened here) but that's another poll ;)

Of course there are aliens. Many enter from other countries every day. But extraterrestrial and extrasolar, aliens, I dunno.

I believe it's a possibility.
If they do exist, I don't think they visit our little planet here; but considering the size of the Universe I think it's possible aliens could exist on other planets out there, even if the whole thing is completely random chance.
Of course, who knows what sort of beings there are out there, if they are out there? Intelligent ones, perhaps? Microscopic single celled organisms?

I find this rather funny.
We call them Aliens and they call Us Aliens or ô*GM^ëç§3aËr‰ÔWº×lTœ·ß in their native thong :biggrin2:

Well, I would like to think there are more planets out there with intelligent life. But, I doubt if contact will ever be made...

Hello,
One of my favourite quotes is... "The surest sign that there are aliens is that they haven't tried to contact us yet." .. or something along those lines. I believe anythings possible, therefor its possible their are aliens.... can you prove that their aren't? (answer = no).

Yes.
I find it hard to believe that there are billions (trillions?) of other stars that may host other solar systems, that not one of those is capable of holding life and doesn't. We're here. Why? This question can be arguable, the "big bang," god etc.
But if it were possible that we're here, the odds are great that some where, in the numerous planets that we're not the only ones that had made it. Even if it's jus bacteria, imagine what would happen to the world then? A whole new situation would be cast.

This is strange
Among the documents to be published is the "Rendlesham File", which deals with one of the country's best known sightings of an unidentified flying object (UFO). Until now, only around 20 members of the public have seen the file, which relates to a sighting in Rendlesham Forest, Suffolk, in 1980.
Thats a few miles from where I live, and yes I am a true believer in the et life.

intelligent life. the surest sign that there is intelligent life somewhere else in the universe is that they haven't tried to contact us yet. ;)
anyway, yeah, i can't imagine, with the immensity of the universe, that there is not life somewhere else. as for what it's like, sure it could just be a blob of amoeba-type bacteria next to a bubbling sulfur spring...how should i know? but life could definitely evolve from that. i think it'd be a bit lonely & frightening to think that of the trillions of stars out there (and just how many more planets??) ...that we are all there is. like if we screw up, nuke the whole planet and kill all the intelligent life here, that'd be it. no more life. nothing. just dead stuff and viruses, which aren't really quite alive anyway. depressing idea.
EDIT: i do not, however, believe all the bs about UFOs.

Personally I think it's kind of concieted to think we're the only ones in this universe. People who dont believe there is other intelligent life out there are stuck in the middle ages when people believed the sun and universe revolved around our little planet.
Other life could have visited here. Who knows....but not in saucers, that's a bit rediculous really. Think about it, a saucer is aerodynamic, but you dont need aerodynamics in space. It may not be pretty, but the most efficient design I have seen come from human imagination thus far is the simplistic cube of the Borg :D
