Hi,
I was wondering if any of you know this game? It's that Asian hand game that involves quite a bit of thinking. Unfortunately, if the players are good enough, whomever starts first will win 100% of the time. Anyway, there is a variation that allows both players to go up to 5 fingers, instead of only 4. Does anyone know whether it is possible for either player to win 100% with this new rule.

Yeah, do you know anything about the 5-finger version then? And whether or not anyone can win 100% of the time?

I can win 90% of the time, but the last time I've played it was 5 years ago. Starting second is not a bad idea also, depends on luck. :p

You can win by starting second if the opponent is a total nuthead. :p

Is0lized, I looked it up on Google, but I wasn't able to find anything. Instead, I got all these sites about the Asian tradition of using chopsticks, as in the eating utensil. ;)
I even tried searching up "chopsticks game", but then, I got a variation of a "pick-up sticks" type game. Oh well... :p
I can tell you how it goes, if you want.
The goal of the game is to eliminate both of the opponent's hands. Both players start with 1 finger on each hand. There are two main moves at the beginning: attacking and adding. Attacking: if you have 1 finger up on your left hand, the opponent has 2 fingers up on their right hand, and you use your left hand to attack your opponent's right, they now have 3 fingers up on their right hand (because 2+1=3). Adding: if you have 1 finger up on your left hand and 3 fingers up on your right hand, and you add your left hand to your right hand, your right hand now has 4 fingers and your left hand still has 1 finger. Once there are 5 fingers on one hand, the hand is dead. Once this happens, you can "split" the number of fingers from the other hand. For example, if you have 3 fingers up on one hand and the other hand is dead, you could choose to split that up between your right and left hands into 1 and 2 fingers. I hope I've explained it clearly enough - it's hard when you can't actually show the person. :)
