Oh yes, NBCi has a limit of 11 megs per file. Therefore, you must split your files before you upload them if they are larger than 11megs.

In my book, that's practically "unlimited" file size.

Yeah and 20mb is fully unlimited.

Yup - just split the files using winrar into 10mb files ;)

Who in their right mind would be insane enough to upload files that big to an FWP? Even I'm not that crazy!
Stas and Crosswinds don't have file size upload limits, and their download speeds are slower than ----!

My point exactly.

I believe there are no such fwp? If you want "unlimited", then you'll have to put up with slow and ads.

Did you try the power search yet?
http://www.freewebspace.net/search/power.html
There are quite a few fwps listed that claims to offer 999MB, you can try them all.

BTW, what's the file size limit for Crosswinds?

There is no file size upload limit for Crosswinds. I've seen one site there that has a couple files larger than 11 mb each there, and I've heard about one person who was going to upload one of his own (self-made) 80 mb program files to them! I'd say Crosswinds is pretty insane for allowing files of any size to be uploaded to their servers.

I guess thats why their speed suffers so badly then, ppl ftp-ing such big files kills their connection

Crosswinds' easy-going method of hosting is going to cost them. I bet there are millions of warez sites on their server right now.

Well, it's been "costing" them for almost 3.5 years now, and surprisingly, they aren't dead yet.

I suppose it's because they've implemented popups and had that pop-a-thon thing last year to raise funds to "get rid of the pop-ups".

Yeah, and I actually believed it too, when, in reality, it resulted in a server "upgrade" which was then degraded by the Crosswinds server admins intentionally throttling download speeds! Not only that, but when I noticed the problem (when at the time I thought it was non-intentional), and I complained to useraid about it, all they did was delete my account ( http://cyberryan----------/ was formerly http://www.crosswinds.net/~cyberryan/ ), telling me that I complained too much! That was the last time I ever trusted the "good guys of the internet."

The "good guys of the net" are good to themselves and their friends.

Deleting an account because of too much complaining? What kind of reason is that? We do have a right to good service. If we don't recieve good hosting, we can at least question what they're doing. Crosswinds claims to be, as Cracker said, "one of the good guys of the internet." But greed sets in, I bet Crosswinds is now a profit generating company (not that I see anything wrong in that) when they started out as a company promising to be a like a charity for poor webmasters.

Cracker

Well, Coolin, it does say in their TOS that they can delete an account at any time without a reason, so I really can't sue them. Now, if I was actually one of those poor suckers who donated money in hopes of getting pop-ups removed (and not just from my pages - those who donated did have the pop-ups removed from their own pages), then I would have asked them for a refund and would have sued if I didn't get it back.

LeX

I didn't know there were refunds for donations. Didn't know you can sue somebody for accepting your donations either. ;)

Cracker

Oh yeah, I guess you can't get your money back if you "donated" it to them, but guess what, it's no longer a donation if you give them money now, because they're now forcing you to pay if you want the pop-ups gone. I guess it's a good thing I never gave them any money (although I did click on their sponsors back when I thought they were "the good guys of the internet" - it just disgusts me that they exploited my faith in them then; I'm telling you, CROSSWINDS IS A CULT!).
