Again a few of my kg-domains don't work, which worked already? Check your kg domains and send mydomain a mail to correct it.

Maybe they have a script which uses allwhois.

They sent me the following:

We have checked your other domain *.com.kg, at http://www.allwhois.com and it shows that .com.kg is not a valid extension,- please see below:

Domain: *.com.kg

Error: [com.kg] Not a Valid Domain Extension-

Mine works just fine. I just can't bulk add more domains anymore with mydomain. Weird.

My kg-domains work again after I emailed mydomain. But I don't understand how the domains can work once (and for weeks) and then I get the message from mydomain:

"Please note that your domain *.com.kg was not configured on our system.- We have configured it manually and you may provide your regional registrar the following DNS information"

"For your other domains, we have checked the "WHOIS" records for all of them and they are pointing towards our DNS ... At this time, it appears that there might be some kind of configuration problem at your registrar's end."

Sounds like MyDomain has a problem... I never did trust them, which is why I've never used them. Try http://www.hn.org... I've had no problems with them so far.

I thought mine weren't working for a long time. Then I logged in to check at domain.kg, and I had the wrong nameservers set up. Doh!:o Anyways, the DNS has been changed, but am still waiting(4 days later) for it to be updated. It's domain.kg fault though, not mydomains.

What I like with mydomain is to define 5 email-forwards and have no transfer limit. I think this is not possible with hn.

Indeed, all my domains worked for a few days and now 1 doesn't work again, although mydomain sent me an email that they checked all my domains.

Everything, works again, but they have sent me the following:

"Your domain *.org.kg is set to redirect to http://*.org.kg

This is a redundant setup and does not work.- You can change the destination URL to http://www.yahoo.com so that you can understand how the domain and it's destination URL works."

LOL, does mydomain belong to yahoo now? Actually a redirection from org.kg to com.kg was and is set. This is the 2nd time I got a "strange" mail from support4, while I was very satisfied with the answers of support5

April 4th, 2001, 09:27
To be precise, USD$0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 + the time you spent registering the domains. :D

Wait... you asked "How much costs a *.*.kg domain"?? Huh?

LeX

To be exact, a *.kg domain costs $122 total.

You can register *.*.kg domains for free at http://www.domain.kg
Remember to never leave out the "www"!

You mean not to place www before it? like mydom.com.kg instead of http://www.mydom.com.kg?
[edited]
wait a seconde! There is no extension like .com.kg! It's just a subdomain!

Whoops, guess I wasn't clear enough.

When you're registering *.*.kg domains, always remember to go to http://www.domain.kg and not http://domain.kg because for some reason, the script won't work without the "www".

As for the domains you registered, it can be with or without the "www", it all ends up as http://www.your-name.*.kg anyways.

OK, got my .com.kg domain. Any ideas how I get the f****ng mydns to work at mydomain? I don't see an option for activating it. I need to adjust my MX records.
[edited]
Sorry, figured it out. How long does it take for the domain to be active? I registred it yesterday, and now it still isn't active. I get the 'DNS name lookup failure' error.
[edited2]
Anybody knows a good mail service? Not looking for something like everyone, just a plain mail service for myself.
[edited3]
And what the heck is a cname?

Really need help on this one. Got prog-home.com.kg registed. Then I went to mydomain.com. Took an account, added my domain. Enabled MyDNS. Setted to forward to http://www.prog-home.f2s.com .
My question now: How can I get evrything working? It shows up an error that there is no such domain(Bad gateway DNS name lookup failure)! In the whois of domain.kg my domain shows up. Any help on how to get this working?

It usually takes at least a week for your domain(s) to be activated. Be patient! :)

For the email stuff, see if you can find anything @ http://www.hotscripts.com/ and http://php.resourceindex.com/

I don't get it about the email. What does scripts have to do with a mail service?

LeX

I have no idea, I just remember seeing a category in hotscripts and resourceindex that goes "email...", so...

http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/9696.html <-- This one is worth a look, I've personally checked it out. Hope this is what you want?
http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/6053.html
http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/5734.html
http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/4178.html

See if any of those "web-based email" scripts are what you're looking for.

If all else fails, then you can always use everyone.net, and yes I already know you don't really want to use them.

Back to the topic, 1 of my *.com.kg and 1 of my *.net.kg doesn't work with mydomain again. Do you believe it's a problem of mydomain or of the kg-server?

I hope this is not a never ending story.

The answer of mydomain was very quick and the domains worked for a few hours again, but now they don't work again and other domains don't work too.

Read what they answered:

"We have manually re configured your domains. Please check to make sure that your domain has not expired."

expired? Are they cheating? Everytime when I contacted them I did a whois query of the kg-domain and included the result.

Do you think I should ignore these stupid comments or ask them to read my mails?

Now my notification-email-adress for this forum doesn't work and that's bad.

Well, I am going to switch one domain to hn and look what happens there.

Mandrake
April 12th, 2001, 12:25
I would move them all over there... Obviously they're never going to work right with MyDomain.

Albert
April 12th, 2001, 13:35
You recommended this already. Unfortunately I am not experienced with all the setup possibilities at hn, but I am willing to learn it now. The setup with mydomain is easier because their service offers email-forwards too, but I found http://www.btofaq.net/mx2mail1.html which is a good start for mx-newbies.

Mandrake
April 12th, 2001, 14:53
I'm not familiar with how MyDomain's setup works as I've never used them, but HN is very easy to use and you can setup as many domains as you want, it seems.

LeX

Can you bulk add domains with hn.org? I don't think so - I haven't found the link yet (if there is one).
