I am in need of at least two scripts, if I can't find both, I'll settle for one.

-News Posting Script (like Newspro, but doesn't need ssi, if at all possible) I'd like to be able to somehow post news on my main page, not a seperate page.

-Message Forum Script
This can be perl or php, but it needs to be FREE and easily integrated into a site design. I did get phpBB installed, but I can't change the background color or make it integrated into my site design. (I like the way phpBB is like vBulletin or Ultimate Bulliten Board.)

Both scripts need to be easy to install, and be FREE.

Thanks for help in advance.

As for a Newspro like script that doesn't use SSI, I doubt you will be able to find one. Unless you get a script that writes all the stuff on your page each time you post, it wouldn't be possible(I don't think).

I've been experimenting and these are the ones I prefer: http://www.bbhacks.com/ and http://www.skriptkiddie.org/?script=2

Take a look at Anyboard http://netbula.com/anyboard/ Its easy to install on any platform that has Perl 5. Reply back and let me know what you think.

there are alot of newsboard scripts that don't use ssi, i used at least 10 that have you specify what page the news will go on and you had to put <!--begin--> where you want the headlines to show up...

only problem is i just accidently deleted every single cgi script i had on my computer, i had hundreds...

Hmm...Try Greymatter [http://www.noahgrey.com/greysoft]. It's incredibly customizable and can be used as a news program.
