If you don't like the URL, get a free redirection from www.uni.cc or www----------

Then either buy a domain, real hosting, or live with what you can get with a host. :D

If you're willing to accept a top/bottom banner, then Topcities is your best bet.

Sounds like we might meet your needs at
http://www.amzweb.net.

Our FREE accounts start at 10MB and are upgradable up to 70MB.
(Our pay accounts start at 75MB and are infinitely upgradable.)

Features available on FREE Accounts include web access, email, mailing lists, web controlled password protected directories, full FTP access, Frontpage 2002, MySQL databases, CGI / Perl, Sun ONE ASP, PHP, Custom Error Pages, Webalizer statistics, etc.

Data Transfer on each account is 1GB Burst
(That is roughly 43GB in terms you'd understand)

There is no popups or banner ads. In fact, advertising is
completely forbidden at AMZ Web Hosting and FREE sites have to
be used for non-commercial purposes. A link to "amzweb.com"
is required on each page but you choose how and where to
implement the link into your site.

And how do you call that?? :confused2

It's generally known as a quid pro quo

Heh, here in Holland we'd call that either: "voor wat hoort wat" or "voor niets gaat de zon op".

In English that would mean: nothing is free :chinese2:

I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you asking
how do you put the link in?

All that is needed is just a simple text link somewhere on
your page. Most people put a simple hyperlink that reads
"Hosted by AMZ Web Hosting" that clicks over to
http://www.amzweb.com ... simple enough.

No, more like in:

"don't you call placing a link advertising??"

I rest my case :bandit2:

If you're interested Tandoc, I have sent you an e-mail with all your details - http://s-u.microze.co.uk

Thanks. :biggrin2:

No, we mean that you cannot put any banner ads on your
site or do any commercial advertising.

A text link to our commercial site is required for all FREE
accounts but that is the only thing permitted and is also
required.

No other advertising is permitted and there are no popups
or banner ads whatsoever.

So what you're saying is basicly:

Our clients are not permitted to place ads on their site.
We won't place adds either EXEPT this little text-link ADD on every page on your site?

Hmm.....

Earandil,

I believe the TOS at AMZ specifies that no external advertising is allowed :) :

Banner and popup advertisements are forbidden at AMZ Web Hosting. Web accounts are for personal and/or non-commercial private use. No web site may utilize any commercial advertising nor participate in any advertising program such as referral or affiliate programs on the internet. Web sites also shall NOT use any hyperlinks to any commercial advertiser on or off the internet using the said AMZ Web Hosting account. The one exception to this rule is participation in the AMZ Web Hosting affiliate program.
I think a text link is only fair as it provides AMZ with a way to generate referrals to their commercial services in order to keep their free hosting free.

Shouldn't we generate a new thread about AMZWeb, because this is going a slight off-topic.

Is the posting on forum thing still there? For AMZWeb I mean?
