I'm looking to get my first domain (yes I'm a self confessed newbie when it comes to this) and I've been over at the http://www.mydomain.com website. It sounds good, but the pricing is kinda vague. The main thing I was wondering is whether the extra services (MyDNS) stayed free or whether it's free for trial period. It didn't really say either way.

Also, I have a credit card, but it's an australian one and I'm not sure how the conversion would work from australian to US dollars.

And if there are there any hidden charges, I'd really like to know. The australian dollar is in such a state right now that any little ammount could amount to a lot after the conversion.

Thanks for any comments, lisa

Im from Australia too :)

I bought my domain from namezero.com (I got rid of the banner illegally, so I had to pay). The conversion rate from the credit card was around 50 cents. At $24.95 it came out at $46.22 on the bill

I would suggest some of these registers:

http://www.gkg.net
http://www.joker.com

Also if you can hold off the Aussie dollar aint doing to well against the greenback.
