Hi,
I have performed searches and have researched what I could, and the idea of using 1T3.com is clearly out of my head after reading some unfavorable stuff about them.
I want to be able to register a domain name and pay a one-time yearly fee for hosting, and the total should really not exceed $50 US, or very close to it if over that.
I need unlimited subdomains, unliited email addresses/forwarding. Storage should be at least 50 Megs, but bigger is always better, and the traffic is not going to be huge at first, but I don't want to be nailed with fees for exceeding it, so I guess 2-5 Gigs would be nice. I want to have a forum on there, something cool like phpbb. Plus, I am not a Windows fan, and think a Linx or Unix based server would be sweet, but that is not critical. Plus, I cannot FTP from work through my firewall, so some type of web interface that I can upload or copy and paste HTML code would be necessary.
Okay, now that I have laid out what seems like a Christmas Wish list (sorry), can someone more experienced than I help point me in the right direction. Is freehostingweb or solidinternet.com possibly a step in the right direction? Does anyone here have experience or know of others who personally who have used these services and been happy or maybe screwed?
Thanks so much!
